It should be in there! Soldier Blue. The song still makes me shiver.
But it’s another huge body of work – the BS-M catalog – what with all the other hits for other people: Universal Soldier, Up Where We Belong, Until It’s Time For You To Go. Shouldn’t have overlooked The Incest Song and the extraordinary version of Waly Waly on the second album, and whatever happened to the gorgeous Tall Trees In Georgia from the Chet Atkins dedicated album, I’m Gonna Be A Country Girl Again. Come on, get it together!
Ah well, I guess the above is as good a Buffy playlist as you’ll find. More or less!

‘Fallen Angels’ from ‘Coincidence and Likely Stories’ is one of my favourites. I saw Buffy at the 1971 Lincoln Folk Festival, James Taylor was supposedly the main draw but Buffy stole the show. Amazing performance and she remains an amazing performer.
Heck I was at Lincoln too in 71. Tupholme Manor Park. Just dug out the programme. How’s this for a line-up. Apart from Buffy and James – Ralph McTell, Tim Hardin, Steeleye, Pentangle, Dion, Incredibles, Sonny & Brownie, Paxton, Byrds, Sandy Denny and Swarbs/Carthy. My god. And it was fantastic!
Lincoln 1971, brilliant line-up, my first festival, and it was a hard act to follow.
All headline acts – and no filler. Imagine that. Good to see you there!
I was also there, hitched down from Glasgow and fell in love with Buffy. Great festival and fantastic acts – glad I was there. Don’t Forget To Boogie.
Buffy is respected among Sami people in northern Scandinavia as a political and cultural activist as well as a singer/songwriter and performer.
